So this is my first post in a long long time! I've been extremely busy since the summer sorting my life out for uni, and of course moving and settling in to the good ol' sunny Brighton. Hoping to get back into the swing of things, I recorded a little tutorial for a simple but striking make-up look that is perfect for the start of the colder weather. (Scroll down past photos for video) Enjoy!x

So I haven't posted in ages, but I've decided to start a YouTube channel! I'm always watching people do their makeup, hair and share beauty tips so i thought why not, and I set up a channel! This tutorial is a look I use quite often as its perfect for casual looks in the daytime, or a smokey look for night which isn't too heavy. Would very much appreciate it if you could take the time to watch, and if so let me know what you think. P.s please subscribe! :)

Also if anyone has a YouTube channel, comment the channel name and I'll subscribe to you!

For Halloween, my boyfriend and I dressed up as greyscale 1950's people! We used black and light grey water based body/face paints and mixed them together to create the right tone, and covered every bit of flesh that was on show. I used grey and black eyeshadows and eyeliners for our eyes, making sure no flesh colours were shown , and used grey eyeliner to colour my lips. I also contoured my nose and cheeks with a dark grey eyeshadow and highlighted with a light shimmery grey. My dress, headband, bag and jewellery were all from charity shops, and my cardi and shoes courtesy of my mum ^-^

As halloween is creeping up, I decided to experiment a little with make up for a barbie doll. Firstly, I caked on LOADS of the darkest foundation I owned, followed by powder. I then drew on my eyebrows, making them as arched as I could, which would have looked a lot better if I covered my real brows and drew them on higher, so I'll remember that for next time.
For the eyes I chose pink eyeshadow which I took up to above my eyelid, then drew a line to create the illusion of bigger eyelids, and above this line I put darker pink eyeshadow. Using black liquid eyeliner I then framed my eyes, going further down than my teardrop to create the look of bigger and more lifted eyes. Then, I drew my lashes from the lashline to just before my brows, because barbies have big eyelashes!!
The final part was making myself look plastic.. I used an angled brush and brown eyeshadow to contour my nose, cheekbones, lips and jaw. I then highlighted these areas, making everything look shiny and plastic! With lip liner I drew way beyond my actual lips, filled it in with lipstick and lipgloss to create huge pouty barbie lips. I also slapped on a lot of blusher on the apples of my cheeks.
Finally I put on a sparkly dress and I was a doll! The only thing i didn't own was a blonde wig :(
What are your fancy dress ideas?
